My interest lies in ancestry and how the idea of ‘the self’ takes form. In my work I research my identity and place in the world by connecting history with personal stories. As third generation Dutch-Timorese I want to connect old family stories with my own diasporic experiences, to create new meaning. My family’s heritage is my greatest source of inspiration.
